It is that special time of the year when consumerism is at an all-time high as people prepare for the holidays.  I went into my email yesterday and had almost 100 promotional emails about Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

In 2023, US consumers spent 9.8 billion on Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, with the average shopper spending over $300. I find this ironic since most people cannot afford a $400 emergency without increasing their debt.

Don't get me wrong. When I am talking to you, I am also talking to myself. It was not until I started shopping smarter for deals that would help me increase my financial education or make me money while I spent money that my financial journey changed.
