It has been a long time but I realized my membership has been active for over 10 years. I received my first “Big Fat Check” in 2015 for a whopping $41.00. REITs are companies that own, operate, or finance income-generating real estate across a range of property sectors. They provide a way for investors to earn a share of the income produced through commercial real estate ownership without actually having to buy, manage, or finance any properties themselves.</p><h3>Types of REITs</h3><p>There are several types of REITs, each specializing in different areas of real estate. Equity REITs are the most common, investing in and owning properties that generate rental income. Mortgage REITs, on the other hand, provide financing for income-producing real estate by purchasing or originating mortgages and mortgage-backed securities. Identify areas where you can cut back on unnecessary spending and allocate more towards savings and investments.</p><p>There are free budgeting templates available online. You can plug in your monthly numbers and it will do all of the heavy lifting for you.</p><p><br></p><h3>Save and Invest</h3><p>One of the key principles of building wealth is to save and invest your money wisely. Start by building an emergency fund to cover unexpected expenses. Aim to save at least three to six months of living expenses. Once you have a solid emergency fund, focus on investing your savings to generate passive income and grow your wealth over time.</p><h3>Eliminate Debt</h3><p>Debt can be a major roadblock to building wealth. Make it a priority to pay off high-interest debts, such as credit card balances and personal loans. Consider consolidating your debts or negotiating lower interest rates to accelerate your debt repayment journey.</p><p>Credit card interest rates are souring. Some of the rates are inching up toward 27 to 30 percent.&nbsp; For example, if you owe $5,000 on your credit card and your interest rate is 27 percent, you will be paying $112 on interest alone. This will make it harder for you to get out of debt.</p><p><br></p><h3>Diversify Your Income</h3><p>Relying solely on one source of income can be risky. Explore opportunities to diversify your income streams, such as starting a side business, investing in real estate, or earning passive income through investments. Having multiple sources of income can provide financial security and accelerate your wealth-building efforts.</p><h2>Stay Committed and Educate Yourself</h2><p>Building wealth is a long-term process that requires commitment and continuous learning.
